Having recently experienced education ourselves, we understand that knowing a subject and knowing how to learn, revise and succeed in an exam are two very different things. I wanted to connect students with tutors who not only understand the specification, but also remember what it feels like to be in their position.
I believe that having a tutor who is closer in age can help create a stronger, more relatable connection, making students more comfortable asking questions, more engaged in lessons and more receptive to guidance. Through our own tutoring experiences, I have seen how effective this approach can be.
I recognised a gap in the market for high-quality, personalised tutoring that remains affordable, and wanted to create a network that could provide both.
I have a genuine passion for teaching and a desire to make tutoring more effective and accessible.
My aim is to combine effective, student-focused teaching with tutors who genuinely understand the journey their students are going through.
For me, English and History were always subjects I thoroughly enjoyed all through secondary school and sixth form. I believe that’s where my interest in tutoring came from and it’s exactly why I want to continue pursuing my passion of tutoring.
Exams and school are undoubtedly stressful, and I always felt like being taught by someone who had actually just sat those exams themselves would have been so much more useful. They know the exams, the right methods and the practices that work, rather than just giving you the same generic advice. That’s exactly why I think Bright Bees is different, because having younger tutors who have recently been through it themselves makes tutoring much more relatable. In turn, having the outstanding help from younger tutors I believe will indefinitely help students become more confident in their studies, and thus themselves.
