At Bright Bee Tutors, we are committed to providing high-quality, professional tuition in a safe and supportive learning environment. Tutors are required to complete an assessment session, during which an experienced teaching professional observes their teaching and provides feedback. This assessment helps us determine each tutor’s suitability and whether they meet our standards to join Bright Bee Tutors. We also carefully consider each tutor’s academic background, experience and suitability before matching them with a student.
For safeguarding purposes, every tutoring session is securely recorded and all tutors hold an enhanced DBS check, giving both parents and students added peace of mind.
To maximise learning time, students can also request detailed lesson notes after each session. This allows them to stay fully engaged during the lesson without worrying about taking extensive notes, while providing clear, concise revision material to refer back to.
We also believe that exceptional tutoring should be affordable. That's why our tutors are high-achieving students who have recently excelled in the very courses they teach. Their first-hand experience means they understand the curriculum inside and out, know what examiners are looking for, and can share the study techniques that helped them achieve top grades—all while keeping tuition at accessible prices.

Having recently experienced education ourselves, we understand that knowing a subject and knowing how to learn, revise and succeed in an exam are two very different things. I wanted to connect students with tutors who not only understand the specification, but also remember what it feels like to be in their position.
I believe that having a tutor who is closer in age can help create a stronger, more relatable connection, making students more comfortable asking questions, more engaged in lessons and more receptive to guidance. Through our own tutoring experiences, I have seen how effective this approach can be.
I recognised a gap in the market for high-quality, personalised tutoring that remains affordable, and wanted to create a network that could provide both.
I have a genuine passion for teaching and a desire to make tutoring more effective and accessible. My aim is to combine personalised, student-focused teaching with tutors who genuinely understand and support each student’s individual learning journey.
For me, English and History were always subjects I thoroughly enjoyed all through secondary school and sixth form. I believe that’s where my interest in tutoring came from and it’s exactly why I want to continue pursuing my passion of tutoring.
Exams and school are undoubtedly stressful, and I always felt like being taught by someone who had actually just sat those exams themselves would have been so much more useful. They know the exams, the right methods and the practices that work, rather than just giving you the same generic advice. That’s exactly why I think Bright Bees is different, because having younger tutors who have recently been through it themselves makes tutoring much more relatable. In turn, having the outstanding help from younger tutors I believe will indefinitely help students become more confident in their studies, and thus themselves.

How do I book a Lesson?

Will I receive feedback on my child’s progress?
Yes. We believe that keeping parents informed is an important part of the tutoring process. You can request feedback on your child’s progress as often as you would like, and we’ll ensure that their tutor provides appropriate updates.
Can I request a specific tutor?
Absolutely! If you have a particular tutor in mind, you are welcome to request them. We will do our best to accommodate your preference, subject to the tutor’s availability and suitability for your child.
How are your tutors selected and vetted?
Every Bright Bee tutor undergoes a thorough screening process before joining our tutoring network. This includes a teaching assessment, observed by an experienced teaching professional who evaluates the tutor’s communication, approach, subject knowledge and suitability for tutoring. Tutors are also required to complete our onboarding process and undergo the appropriate safeguarding and DBS checks.
How long are tutoring sessions?
Our standard tutoring sessions are one hour, although session length can be discussed during your consultation depending on your child’s age, needs and preferences.
Are your lessons recorded?
Yes. Online lessons are recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance purposes. Recordings are stored securely and will be automatically deleted after three months, unless they need to be retained for longer due to a safeguarding concern, complaint, investigation or legal requirement.
Do Tutors provide resources or notes?
Yes. Tutors can provide lesson notes and useful resources where appropriate. Our recorded online sessions can also support the creation of helpful notes and summaries, allowing students to revisit key areas covered during their lessons.
Are lessons online or in person?
We offer both online and in-person tutoring, depending on the tutor’s availability and location. During your free consultation, we can discuss your preferences and find the most suitable option for your child.
Can tutoring be tailored to my child’s individual needs?
Absolutely. Our tutors adapt their teaching to suit each student’s individual learning style, strengths, areas for development and goals. During your consultation, we’ll discuss what your child needs support with so we can find the right tutor and approach for them.
